Sideboard:
Maple &Sapelle
This handcrafted sideboard blends mid-century and Scandinavian design with clean lines and functional form. Made from contrasting wood species—warm sapele for the frame and striking spalted maple for the drawer and door fronts—it showcases natural patterns and tones.
Leather pulls complement the sapele and add softness to the mid-century modern style. This piece includes a shallow top drawer, three drawers of varying depths, and a cabinet for larger storage.
This was my first large-scale project made entirely from hardwood. I milled and glued up all the panels myself; only the drawer bottoms use plywood. Joints are held with glue, rabbets, and dowels—no metal hardware. Angled legs lift the piece, giving it a lighter, more dynamic feel.
